Dad Rick MacInnis Passes
Richard S. “Rick” MacInnis, 60, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021, after a year’s long battle with cancer.
Rick was born on November 11, 1960, in Lynn, Massachusetts to Donald and Marlene (Robinson) MacInnis. He grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn English High school in 1978. He went on to graduate from Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s in Accounting in 1983. He was a member of the Beta Alpha Psi fraternity.
Rick was involved heavily in the Order of DeMolay both as a youth and an adult advisor. He was a Past Master Councilor from Lynn Chapter and served on the state level. His work as an adult advisor earned him the Legion of Honor which is highest award that can be bestowed upon an advisor.
Rick was an avid bowler and football fan. Since moving to Florida in 2012, Rick took an interest in the game of stickball and was impacted by the comradery of the group of players and excelled to be a team captain on the championship team. Their friendships were invaluable during his recent battle. Rick also enjoyed taking trips to Disney World with his family.
Loving husband to Lesley (McDonald) MacInnis, who he shared 39 wonderful years of marriage with. In addition to his wife, Lesley; he is also survived by his son Ryan MacInnis and his wife Amy of Stratham, NH; his daughter Kimberly Manion and her husband Ian of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Tristan; granddaughters, Audrey and Nora; parents, Donald MacInnis and his wife Marlene of Lynn, MA; siblings, Jeffrey MacInnis and his wife Dianne of Danvers, MA, Pamela Hinkle and her husband James of Lynn, MA, Deborah D’Amato and her husband Anthony of Walpole, MA; father-in-law, William McDonald of Merrimac, MA; brother-in-law Alan McDonald and his wife Karen of Merrimac, MA; several nieces and nephews and 3 great-nephews and a great-niece.
